Sinfin

Sinfin is a small estate to the South of Derby. Walking down Shakespeare Street towards the heart of the estate your attention might be caught by the pair of trainers dangling overhead from the telephone wire, the numerous crisp packets blown by the wind into front gardens and the group of people standing outside the local pub smoking a cigarette.

My desire is to see this place transformed through the power of Jesus, to see people's lives changed, to see hope, light and life rising up in a place where there is a lot of darkness.

I am partnering with a local Anglican church called St Stephen's and at the moment spending a lot of time investing in the local young people. They are really interested in what we have to tell them about who God is and how much he loves them. It will be great to see some of the young people having more hope for the future, because the place where they are growing up does not always offer them much of that.

We are currently running a youth group, an Alpha course and doing detached work on the estate. Also I have been into a local school a few times to help out with lessons and assemblies.
